Odsonne Edouard was the coolest man in the stadium as he advanced on Hearts keeper Bobby Zlamal in the 82nd minute at Hampden. The Frenchman knew exactly what he was going to do as he lifted the ball into the net to complete Celtic’s remarkable comeback.
It’s kind of fitting that it was Edouard who had the final say on Celtic’s season. The 21-year-old was the club’s record signing last summer – the Hoops paying a reported £9million to lure him from PSG.

23 goals later and it’s fair to say the forward has had a terrific first season. He’s not always been the most consistent performer but he has delivered at key moments.
The goal against Rangers at Celtic Park. The crucial late winners at Tynecastle and Dens. The tap in against Leipzig. And now two huge goals in Celtic’s biggest game of the season.

Next year’s hero
The youngster is only likely to be better next season. He needs to find a more consistent level of display in the smaller matches to reach the heights of his compatriot and friend Moussa Dembele. He’s not miles away though.

This summer is likely to see a lot of upheaval at Celtic but there’s one position the Hoops don’t need to sign a first-teamer. Odsonne Edouard is our striker and the longer that stays the case the better.
