Odsonne Edouard can still cap off a memorable season by winning the Tartan Ball award. The Frenchman is vying with two other Premiership strikers for the award which is in its inaugural season.
Edouard is currently third in the standings with 15 strikes this season. He sits behind both Aberdeen’s Sam Cosgrove (16) and Rangers’ Alfredo Morelos (17) but is still in with a real opportunity if he can grab the initiative in the closing weeks.

In total, Edouard has netted 21 goals in his first season as a permanent Celtic employee, including five in Europe.
He isn’t likely to win the overall Tartan Boot prize – for scoring the most goals in the entire SPFL – as he lags behind 30 goal a season men Kieran Nisbet and Blair Henderson.

A good opening season
Edouard perhaps hasn’t found a level of consistency in his first full season but it’s hard to argue with his goalscoring return. The youngster has already netted more than Moussa Dembele did last year, and he could even beat Dembele’s league return from his incredible first season.
Edouard has also shown he’s a man for the big occasion. Goals at Hampden, against Rangers and in Europe prove he is a capable striker at any level. What the Frenchman must now work on is his application in run-of-the-mill matches.

He could also do with a back-up striker willing to run him close every week. The likely return of Leigh Griffiths may spur Edouard on to a level of consistent performance we’ve not yet seen.
Big things were expected when Celtic paid a rumoured £9million for Edouard in the summer. Without being totally spectacular, he’s had a really good first season in the Hoops. It would just be lovely if he could sign off by winning an award.
