Former Celtic defender Efe Ambrose believes that Neil Lennon should be named as the club’s next permanent manager.

Lennon is the club’s interim manager until the end of the season. Ambrose, who played under Lennon at both Celtic and Hibs, thinks that he is the ideal man to lead Celtic forward.

“The board will make the right decision, but Celtic and Neil Lennon are made for each other” he said, as reported by the Scottish Sun.

“He has been there before and can have the same success. It’s nothing new for him — there is no risk.”

Since Lennon took over from Brendan Rodgers he has done all that has been asked of him. He has led the Hoops to the league title.

The Hoops are also in the Scottish Cup Final. They stand on the verge of a historic third consecutive domestic treble.

Despite the good results, there has no announcement yet about the future of Lennon.

Lennon faces his next test as Celtic manager on Sunday, when the Hoops take on Rangers in the last Glasgow derby of the season.

A convincing win for the Hoops at Ibrox would no doubt lead for calls for Lennon to be given the manger’s job on a permanent basis.

At the moment though, there is no sign of any announcement on the manager’s future. But Efe Ambrose has made his opinion loud and clear.
