Jota is back in Celtic colours!
On Sunday, Celtic beat Motherwell to maintain their ten-point lead – with a game in hand – at the top of the Premiership table.
The last time Brendan Rodgers’ side were in Premiership action was on January 14, since then they have played in the Scottish Cup, in the Champions League and had the Dundee game postponed last week because of the weather.
It’s amazing how much things have changed since then because Kyogo Furuhashi is out of the door and Jota is back in Celtic colours.
The 25-year-old left Parkhead during the summer of 2023 and secured a big-money move to the Saudi Pro League.
But life in the Middle East, as well as in France’s top-tier for Rennes, didn’t pan out the way he liked and now he is back where he made a name for himself.
Jota scores on second Celtic debut

Jota came on as a second-half substitute and despite playing very little this season for Rennes, he looked quality and like he never left.
And then it just had to be because he ended up putting the ball into the back of the net in stoppage time to seal the three points for Celtic.
The Portuguese star was in tears after the goal went in and it was the perfect return for a Bhoys hero.
Jota’s actions before Celtic’s win over Motherwell
Of course, everyone has seen Jota complete his media duties since returning and they have heard from him via various channels.
But this was the first time the supporters got to see him up, close and personal again, as he went over to acknowledge and embrace the Celtic away fans before kick-off at Fir Park.
Celtic’s clash at Motherwell was broadcast on Sky Sports and presenter Eilidh Barbour interrupted when she noticed Jota coming out, going towards the away fans, slapping the badge and ‘saying hello’ to them, as she told Sky Sports Football (02/02/25 at 2:50 pm).
“I think Jota has just arrived to warm up,” said Barbour. “I think they are quite happy he is back. There he is, saying hello to the Celtic fans, a flair player himself.”
