Eintracht Frankfurt star Ajdin Hrustic has admitted to his admiration for Celtic boss Ange Postecoglou.

Hrustic has quite the history with Ange after being coached by the Celtic manager when he was just 11 years old. Fast forward to 2017 and he was also handed his international debut by Postecoglou for Australia.

These days, Ange is leading Celtic to Scottish Premiership glory and set to compete in the UCL next season. Hrustic, meanwhile, is gearing up for the Europa League final against Rangers tomorrow night.

And as he reflected on his time with Ange, Hrustic couldn’t speak more highly of him. As quoted by the National, the playmaker said: “I left Australia when I was quite young. But Ange coached me when I was a little boy, coached me at the age of 11. I had him with the national team too. For me personally he gave me my debut. It’s something I’ll always remember and keep in my heart. He’s a great manager.

“You could see the way he wanted to play football, the way he wanted us to play football. The confidence he gives players is something magnificent. It’s small things, details that count on the pitch. I’m sure the drills they do at training are about how they play at Celtic.

“He’s proving himself and I’m happy for him. I’m happy for him for doing what he’s doing. He’s a manager I loved working under so I wish him all the best. I’ve been following how he’s been getting on. We’ve obviously had Tommy Rogic there as well. I follow the league quite a lot to be honest.”

Eintracht Frankfurt star opens up on relationship with Celtic boss

Hrustic and Ange certainly seem to have plenty of history together back in their days in Australia. You can see just how much the Celtic boss means to the Frankfurt man.

Postecoglou’s reputation amongst Australian footballers and managers is clearly at a real high. No wonder considering he’s widely recognised as the greatest manager Aussie football has ever produced.

We’ve seen first hand how he operates this season and it’s been an absolute joy to behold. Not only has he shown the squad-building capabilities necessary to succeed here, but he’s also shown insane man-management skills too.

We’re now in a position with Ange where we’re league champions and double-winners this season alone. It’s an outrageous achievement and shows exactly the level of impact he’s had on this football club.

It’s no surprise now to hear outsiders bigging up the Celtic manager. But it does show how many extra eyes are on the football club this season given the reputation Ange has back home and elsewhere.

Hopefully, it’s just the start. And hopefully for Hrustic, he manages to get his own job done tomorrow night.
