Hatem Abd Elhamed has had an impressive start to his Celtic career. He has made only two performances for the Hoops since joining from Hapoel Be’er Sheva in a £1.6 million deal.
He was particularly impressive in the 1-1 draw with Cluj in the Champions League qualifiers. Elhamed’s performances deserve even more praise when the player himself has stated that he didn’t have a pre-season.
He is confident that once he gets fully fit, he will be even better for the Hoops.
“My pre-season wasn’t very good, so I have been happy with my performance in the last two games” he said, as reported by the Herald.
“I will be better”

“When I get 100 per cent fit I will be better.”
It can’t have been easy for Elhamed to have been put into the Hoops side at such short notice. Not only did he have to play in a huge game early in his Hoops career, but he is also replacing a club legend in Mikael Lustig.
However, he has coped well so far in his short Hoops career. It will be interesting to see if Elhamed is selected for Saturday’s game against Motherwell.
May be rested for upcoming fixture

Three games in a week may be too much for the player. However, there is no doubt that he will be back in the team for the second leg against Cluj.
If Elhamed is able to improve on his already impressive start to his Hoops career, he could be an excellent signing.
