Celtic winger Mohamed Elyounoussi has revealed that the Hoops held some major dressing room talks that every player got involved in.
The Bhoys continue to go from disaster to disaster on the pitch, with yet another ridiculous performance greeting us on Thursday night against Sparta Prague. Another 4-1 mauling just like the one at Celtic Park was thrown into the face of the Hoops support.
The result made it only two wins in nine games, albeit with a tricky fixture list to contend with. The club have failed to beat Rangers, AC Milan, Aberdeen, Lille, Hibernian, and Sparta Prague (x2) respectively.
It’s a massively frustrating run of results for the club, with every player coming in for criticism for their recent displays. And Moi has lifted the lid on the dressing room inquest the players had after Thursday, whilst refusing to delve into the details too much.
As quoted by the Scottish Sun, Elyounoussi said: “Yes we’ve had a healthy dialogue between each other.
“We had a chat with every player and the staff and everyone said what they are thinking. It was a good chat, but everything is going to stay in here between us.
“We are still the same players that did so well last year. The preparation hasn’t changed so there is nothing different. I think sometimes it could be a lack of confidence, sometimes just in your head.”
Domestic fixtures give Celtic a chance to end their slump
Yes, I’m one of the worst for saying that our season starts again before every game. I feel like I’ve been saying it every week over the last two months of action. However, it’s a valid point to make ahead of today’s Betfred Cup clash against Ross County.
Celtic now have a glorious run of domestic fixtures that provides them with an opportunity to build some genuine momentum. After their game against County, we have league matches at home to the likes of County again, St Johnstone, Kilmarnock, and Dundee United respectively. An away trip to Hamilton is also thrown in there along with a chance to wrap up a quadruple treble against Hearts in the Scottish Cup.
What you can’t deny about our games over the last month or two is that we’ve barely had a routine one to get us back on track. Yes, domestically at least, Celtic should be able to bounce back in any fixture. But there’s a massive confidence crisis at the club just now, and a run of more simple-looking matches could be what we need.

Over the last month, there’s always been a feeling of Neil Lennon being just one game from the sack. Granted, that’s not how things have turned out, but the results have given off that vibe given the criticism and pressure he’s been under.
But that’s on nobody but the manager. Some of the results (and many of them) have simply been unacceptable. The performance levels have been even worse stretching back to the start of the season when positive results were covering them up.
So a dressing room inquest into things is welcome of course. But a reset button needs hit today against County. If it isn’t, surely the Lennon’s time will be up.
In other news, Lennon has revealed a big Lennoxtown shake-up in a bid to save our season.
