Nicolas Kuhn is loving this campaign at Celtic and has certainly made his mark in a strong early start after thriving in pre-season.

Last season, his well-documented weight loss after dental surgery doubled his workload from a physical standpoint, putting him at a disadvantage in trying to make an impact at the club last term.

Nevertheless, he now has five goals and six assists in eight appearances for Celtic in 2024/25, cementing his role on the right flank ahead of other competition.

Brendan Rodgers has lauded changes in Kuhn’s condition since his recovery from illness, which has in turn, set the scene for the German winger to operate freely without setbacks getting in the way.

At Lennoxtown, he doesn’t need to look to far for inspiration from positional counterparts, and he has been quick to point out the help James Forrest has provided him with in Glasgow.

Speaking live on the Celtic FC Podcast at Argyle Street’s JD flagship store in Glasgow, Kuhn gave some insight on how Forrest has helped him settle in on and off the pitch.

He stated [Celtic FC YouTube]: “I think you almost said everything. He’s an unbelievable player and also a good person; off the pitch, he’s really nice and really helpful. I think you could see at the end of the season that he was an important player for us, so he’s just a really good player and a nice guy.”

With the topic of conversation moving on, Kuhn then went on to describe the ‘amazing’ atmosphere he experienced in Celtic’s demolition against Slovan Bratislava last week in the Champions League.

Kuhn said: “It was unbelievable. It was a long wait to get into the Champions League, and then the atmosphere was amazing. A lot of friends were here, and some of them were crying, I said it in the press conference already. Yeah, it was nice!”

Following a difficult early moment, Kuhn has found his stride at Celtic and it is clear to see he is loving every minute of action on the right.

Excitement filled the air when he signed. Now fully integrated with the tactical framework under Brendan Rodgers, he is a key player the manager trusts to be a potential match-winner week to week.

Resting on your laurels is never viable at Celtic. However, the mood music among supporters is that he is only getting started this season.

Hopefully, the former Bayern Munich youth can keep shining in the coming months. Right now, he is one of the first names on the teamsheet.
