The biggest threat to the finances of Celtic this season is the English transfer window.

The Champions League play-offs are two weeks later and failure to qualify would mean having to offload a big player to help the loss in money.

Fans will revolt and the club’s money men will be loosening their collars.

Failure to prepare then prepare to fail will be the narrative from the Celtic faithful. The usual way of it would be to offload a big star down south to soften the blow. With the English window shutting well before qualifiers ending, the market will be reduced.
