Former Celtic defender Erik Sviatchenko thinks three Bhoys will reach the top of the game.

The Danish international has tipped three Scots he played with during his time in Glasgow. Ryan Christie, Ewan Henderson and Karamoko Dembele are the ones to watch for Sviatchenko.

Eyebrows will be raised to see that Dembele played with Sviatchenko – a slight liberty has been taken here but you’ll understand.

The 27-year old stopper has chosen three players breaking into the squad as those with potential.

First is Christie, who spent time away from Sviatchenko and others on loan at Aberdeen at the time.

Sviatchenko spoke highly of the attacking midfielder on Four Tims and a Podcast.

He said: “I said when Ryan wasn’t playing that much and was out on loan and didn’t know what was going to happen, I recommended him to Midtjylland.

“I told them he was going to be the next big star and you can see now there is no chance of him coming to Midtjylland now as for him it’s about being the important player he is at Celtic and will kick on from there.”

The current Midtjylland player of the year also bigged up 19-year-old Henderson.

He said: “I remember Ewan Henderson as well on training camps we had with him and also the games he came in and also in training him and his brother Liam always had that really skilful attitude and could produce some magical passes. Ewan has really done well too and I think that Neil Lennon looks towards him.”

Surprise session with Karamoko Dembele

The Dane also revealed he trained with the Celtic under-17s at one point.

This is where got to have a first glimpse of 16-year-old hotshot Dembele before everyone else.

Sviatchenko thinks he will make it big in the game as well.

He added: “I played and trained with him and I thought this guy is going to kick on and do some magic.

“Now he is playing and I saw his debut and he had a really good impact on the game even though he is only 16-years-old. It was quite an experience to watch him.”

All three Bhoys are promising at the moment and will need to produce a big season to show they can reach their potential.
