Read MoreJesse Marsch comments are a game-changer; Celtic fans left buzzing
The Celtic supporters certainly have a spring in their step after Jesse Marsch effectively confirmed his interest in the Hoops managerial vacancy.
Marsch called the Celtic links “an honour” and talked up the potential project he would be taking on in Glasgow [BBC].
This wasn’t just a manager being diplomatic about the speculation. The RB Salzburg boss came across as genuinely interested in the role. And with that, the Celtic managerial picture has changed massively.
Marsch, if interested, would be the outstanding candidate. The former USA assistant manager has previously bossed Montreal Impact and the New York Red Bulls. He was also Ralf Rangnick’s assistant at Leipzig too.
But it’s his work with Salzburg that’s caught the eye. in his first season in charged back in the 2019/20 season, Salzburg scooped up the double. He also won coach of the year back in 2015 with the Red Bulls.
Jesse Marsch to Celtic would be a game-changing appointment
Marsch is directly responsible for helping develop the likes of Erling Haaland and Takumi Minamino respectively. He has a history of helping bring young talent forward before selling them on for a big profit.
In that sense, he’s exactly what Celtic would want. A sheer winner with an appetite to give young players a chance and develop from within.

Celtic fans have been left with nothing but apathy towards their board for what’s been a shocking season. A lack of decisive action and a sheer dismissal of the club’s best interests has left fans rattled.
However, appointing a name that carries great stock these days like Marsch would repair a lot of damage. In fact, it could be the decision that takes massive amounts of pressure off of this Celtic board.
The supporters are definitely up for it if social media is anything to go by. Here’s a look at what many are saying on Twitter:
Interesting comments from Jesse Marsch this morning re #Celtic would take him in a heartbeat. Learned his craft working alongside Ralf Rangnick at RB. Exactly the type of young, progressive, modern thinking coach we should be talking to.

Sometimes a manager's comments come across as diplomatic even when flattering but Jesse Marsch sounds genuinely interested in Celtic.
Would be a fantastic appointment.
