Celtic must be eyeing a Europa League spot as the competition returns to Seville. UEFA have announced that the Spanish city will host the final in 2021.
The last time it was in the south side of the country, Celtic made the final. Unfortunately, the Hoops were beaten by Porto after extra time in 2003.
This time though, Neil Lennon and co will be eyeing the podium spot to right some wrongs.
Celtic will relish Seville Europa League final place
The city’s announcement is a fantastic incentive for Celtic in Europe in two year’s time.

Seville holds different memories for the Hoops faithful for many reasons. To some, it is the culmination of hard work by Martin O’Neill’s side, while to others it’s the place where hopes and dreams were crushed.
Nevertheless, Lennon will want a happy return to the Spanish city where he just missed out.
There is a difference, however, in that the venue has moved across the city. The city’s neutral Estadio de La Cartuja was the venue in 2003, but in 2021 it will be Sevilla’s Estadio Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán.
The new venue hosted Steaua Bucharest’s European Cup win over Barcelona in 1986.

All things in mind, there are some Celtic fans who will not be eyeing up Seville in 2021 at all.
They will think The Bhoys have bigger fish to fry when it comes to European competition.
Hoops fans will want Champions League appearance
Ambitious Celtic fans long for the club to return to the Champions League. The last few years aren’t kind to those as the club are settling with Europa League football.

2021 will be no different as will next season in 2020 due to the disaster of this season’s attempt. Some won’t care that the final is in Seville as they will be aiming for Istanbul and St Petersburg, respectively.
Gone are the days of Celtic teams making Champions League finals, but fans can dream.
