Celtic are a football club based on winning trophies and the majority of the squad have never experienced a season without winning at least one bit of silverware.
James Forrest is the most decorated player in Celtic history and has won a handful of trophies while some of the more recent additions have helped to continue the success and bringing trophies back to Parkhead.
Signings from the 2025/26 season are obviously excluded from this but could win a league and cup double, but there are only two others who can say they’ve ended a season in the green and white without a trophy.

Every Celtic player who has won at least one trophy in every season
Out of the current squad, pretty much everyone has won a trophy at least once per season.
Kasper Schmeichel and Viljami Sinisalo both enjoyed a domestic double in their first season with the Bhoys while defenders Anthony Ralston, Colby Donovan, Auston Trusty, Cameron Carter-Vickers, Liam Scales and Dane Murray have all only ever known silverware.
The same goes for the forward areas of the pitch. Arne Engels, Luke McCowan, Paulo Bernardo and Hyunjun Yang all know what it feels like to win silverware each year at Celtic, as well as Reo Hatate, Jota, Johnny Kenny and Daizen Maeda.
You might notice that there are two well-known players that are missing from the list. It’s no coincidence that they are the club’s longest-serving players.
You can pick one Celtic player to replace Callum McGregor as captain..
Who are you picking❓
Which Celtic players have ended a season without a trophy
Despite being the most decorated player in Celtic history, Forrest is one of two players who has ended a season empty-handed in the trophy department.
Having been at the club since 2010, the winger missed out on any team accolades in the 2009/10 and 2020/21 seasons.
| Player | Number of trophyless seasons | Seasons without a trophy |
|---|---|---|
| James Forrest | 2 | 2009/10, 2020/21 |
| Callum McGregor | 1 | 2020/21 |
Captain Callum McGregor also features on the list. He has been involved in the first-team since 2013 and therefore was also a part of the squad in the 2020/21 season, which most would like to forget.
