Every Celtic humbling of Rangers in 2023 as Ibrox misery continues

It may not have escaped your attention that Celtic have had Rangers’ number recently.

We’ve faced our rivals four times at first-team level in 2023, with positive results arriving every time.

But that dominance seems to extend to youth levels too, with the B team recording a penalty shoot-out victory to lift the Glasgow Cup at Ibrox last night.

That was actually Celtic B‘s third victory over Rangers this year.

We defeated them 3-1 at their Training Centre in the Glasgow Cup group stage in early March with Joey Dawson grabbing a double.

Less than a month later, in Lowland League action, it was another 3-1 win for the young Celts, this time at Ibrox.

That came after a 5-2 league win at Celtic Park in December 30.

Last night, again at Ibrox, we were 3-0 up inside 40 minutes, only to be pegged back and end up winners on penalties.

We also pipped them to a trophy seven days earlier at Hampden in the Scottish Youth Cup Final. That one featured largely under-18s sides and saw the Celts win 6-5 after extra time.

The women’s side have also enjoyed some success against Rangers in 2023. Back in February, they earned a 3-0 SWPL win with Caitlin Hayes netting twice.

Their other two results haven’t been quite as positive. In March we equalised late to earn a 1-1 draw, while last week we went down 1-0 in a damaging result for our title hopes.

And, of course, the first-team have dominated Michael Beale’s side so far this year. We’ve won three and drawn one of our four meetings and go to Ibrox on Saturday for the final derby of the campaign.

When you add all of the above together, you end up with an overall recent record of:

Played: 12

Celtic wins: 9

Rangers wins: 1

Draws: 2

No wonder they’re so miserable at Ibrox right now.
