Celtic’s defeat to Hearts has already opened up a media narrative about new manager Wilfried Nancy this week.

As the Celtic manager is being strongly and unjustly criticised for his touchline communication style towards his players, it seems that there is an apparent red card controversy that needs to be addressed too.

Hearts beat Celtic fair and square. Forget all the noise about Nancy’s tactics board, the Bhoys were simply not good enough.

The media appear to be generating a lot of negativity around Celtic this week, how can fans and the club combat this?

It wasn’t even covered in the highlights, and it wasn’t even really sort of picked up on at all. So the fact that mainstream media, which are always the ones who try and sort of magnify and glorify things.

However, it appears that there is a red card controversy that is being spewed by the media about Celtic hero Daizen Maeda and former SFA referees Des Roache and Steve Conroy are simply not buying into it.

Des Roache hammers ‘mainstream media’ over Celtic hero Daizen Maeda ‘red card’ claim

First up was Des Roache who seemed perplexed that this was even a talking point after the game as he addressed the ‘mainstream media’ directly over this strange Celtic red card claim.

Roache told The Ref’s View, “No, no, I think it was much ado about nothing, to be honest. There wasn’t much in it.

“It wasn’t even covered in the highlights, and it wasn’t even really sort of picked up on at all. So the fact that mainstream media, which are always the ones who try and sort of magnify and glorify things.

“Yeah, I’m not setting myself on fire for that. No, that’s just, what would you say? There’s nothing.”

Steve Conroy hits out at the media for trying to ‘get traffic’ using Celtic red card controversy

Steve Conroy was just as cutting with his criticism of the media over this fabricated nonsense as the former referee said the manufactured controversy ‘didn’t raise any eyebrows’.

Conroy agreed and said, “To be fair, they’ve got a job to do, so they’re going to have to try and sell it and get traffic on it coming out and saying, you know, the jobs are good ‘un, doesn’t really sell much papers.

“But no, I’m not fussed. It didn’t raise any eyebrows.”

You can watch the criticism of the made up Celtic controversy below.

There seems to be a lot of negativity being generated in the media this week about Celtic and it has got so bad that even former referees can see it.

As we have said before, it’s rather ironic that Celtic have banned fan media and supporters from Parkhead considering these are the only people who will defend the club at times like this.
