With less than 24 hours to go until Celtic take the field in the first leg of the Japan tour, the excitement is already building as the Japanese public look forward to seeing Celtic take on Yokohama at the Nissan Stadium.

Kick-off for the match is at 7pm local time (11am BST) and in order to get the best seats in the house, the Japanese fans have taken a very unusual step that had to be explained by Celtic’s Japanese Twitter account.

The club spotted something strange outside the stadium and asked the Japan Twitter account to explain what is going on:

Celtic FC Japan replied, “For tomorrow’s game, the sight of “sheets pasted” already in the rows of the stadium.

“Japanese fans already place holding their spot in tomorrow’s queue to watch the game.”

So not only are the Japanese fans reserving the best seats in the house ahead of the game, they are also holding the best spots in the queue to get in. Could you imagine this happening in the east of Glasgow for a pre-season game?

If anything, this just proves how much of a draw Celtic are in the region. Obviously having established internationals like Kyogo Furuhashi, Reo Hatate and Daizen Maeda helps but so does having the former Japan MVP, Tomoki Iwata in the side.

Brendan Rodgers has already held his first press conference ahead of tomorrow’s game where he said that bringing Celtic to Japan is ‘really special’ to the club and the Japanese players.

Well, it seems that the feeling is being reciprocated by the Japanese public and it does suggest that there could be a decent sized crowd ready to welcome Celtic and our players.
