Kris Boyd was teased in the Sky Sports studios as Brendan Rodgers Celtic secured a stunning 2-1 win at Motherwell.
The former Rangers striker was doing punditry work ahead of the 3pm kick-offs in the English Premier League when Celtic were playing Motherwell.
Sky had sent James McFadden to Fir Park to provide updates during the game and, as the home team equalised in stoppage-time, Kris Boyd could be seen celebrating with a big grin on his face inside the studios.
That’s when Soccer Saturday presenter Simon Thomas, who at the time was talking about the Premier League with four other pundits, proceeded to say ‘We will come to what has happened in a moment. I think people at home can guess (by Boyd’s celebrations) what happened’.
But, by the time Sky would go out to James McFadden, the Bhoys had netted the winner, with Simon Thomas then adding: ‘One moment Boydy is smiling like a Cheshire Cat. He’s smiling for different reasons now’, as he told Soccer Saturday on Sky Sports (30/09/23 at 2:25 pm).
That’s when the cameras panned to James McFadden who said that he was ‘going to give my mate good news’, but in the end, he had to provide him with the news he was dreading, which Boyd responded to by saying ‘I don’t want to hear from you again.’ Read below how it all unfolded.

Celtic pull off a stunning comeback at Motherwell
Sky presenter Simon Thomas on Kris Boyd celebrating when Motherwell equalised: “We will come to what has happened in just a moment. I think people at home can guess what happened.”
By the time Sky went to James McFadden to speak about the equaliser, Celtic had scored the winner.
Clinton Morrison then stated: “He (Boyd) is now putting me off because he’s saying it’s 2-1 Celtic.”
Simon Thomas then added: “One moment Boydy is smiling like a Cheshire Cat, he’s still smiling, but for different reasons because it has been an extraordinary couple of minutes at Fir Park between Motherwell and Celtic, tell us what happened, James McFadden.”
The former Scotland midfielder said: “Well, I was going to give my mate some good news – both sets of supporters are all over the pitch in that far corner. I really thought I could give you some good news, Boydy. But I am sorry for you big man. Celtic are 2-1 up. What a game.”
Boyd then added: “McFadden, I don’t want to hear from you again either.”

Rangers defeat
Well, if Boyd was feeling down at the Celtic result, a few hours later, he would have been fuming at the goings-on at Rangers
The boos were ringing around Ibrox, once again, with Aberdeen slapping Rangers into a deserved defeat.
That loss puts huge pressure on Michael Beale’s shoulders, and you would imagine, it’s probably a matter of time before he is given his marching orders – Chris Sutton reacted to both results.
And some thought that Ange Postecoglou wasn’t going to last!
