This is a huge week for Celtic Football Club.
From Martin O’Neill’s final game in charge, Wilfried Nancy’s official announcement, and potentially going to the top of the Premiership table.
A lot is going to happen, starting with O’Neill’s final bow against Dundee on Wednesday night, and sending off Celtic’s greatest manager post-Jock Stein out on a high.
It will be interesting to see if Nancy will be in Glasgow to watch the Dundee match because he has landed in London ahead of his unveiling.
What permanent role would you give Martin O’Neill at Celtic?
Fabrizio Romano’s update on Celtic’s new manager, Wilfried Nancy
Fabrizio Romano hasn’t said much on Celtic’s managerial search, but he has dropped a few pockets of information here and there.
On Wednesday, Romano posted on social media that Nancy had ‘arrived’ in London, after being given permission by the Columbus Crew to do so.
As many would have seen, these talks with Nancy have been rumbling on for a number of weeks now, and now they are set to enter their final hurdle.
With Celtic’s top-of-the-table clash against Hearts coming on Sunday, there won’t be much time to rest, because Nancy will take his ‘first training session’ on Thursday, according to Romano.
‘Wilfried Nancy has arrived in London now, authorised to travel by Columbus to become the new Celtic head coach,’ wrote Romano.
‘Nancy will be in Glasgow on Thursday for his first training session at Celtic. Official announcement to follow.’
