It’s fair to say Neil Lennon is not a happy man with someone inside Celtic.
The manager was left fuming yesterday when it became apparent his team for the game against Rangers was leaked well in advance of the official announcement at 11:15 am.
The team did the rounds on social media well in advance and was eventually picked up by the Scottish mainstream press.
Lennon told The Scottish Sun after the 2-0 defeat: “It’s not great. Somebody within the club is doing us in, basically, and that’s disgusting. We’ll try to get to the bottom of it.
“I keep talking about a sense of privacy around our club and it just doesn’t seem to be the case with some people.”
Who those ‘some people’ remain a mystery, but his comments have the hallmarks of his post-Ferencvaros media interviews when he suggested some players in his dressing room didn’t want to be at the club.
Obviously, it’s not ideal that opposition teams could get wind of our team and tactics a bit earlier than normal, but I can’t help but feel Lennon is using this supposed scandal as a deflection tactic.
Surely Steven Gerrard had picked his team well in advance of even the leaks?
There are glaring issues in Lennon’s current set-up and the fans deserve a bit of honesty on that front and some kind of steer towards how the coaching staff and squad are going to sort it out.
The excuses aren’t really washing with the Celtic support either.
There’s a feeling that either Lennon is looking to divert attention away from yesterday’s horror show, or that if there is indeed a serious leak from the dressing room it reflects badly on his management.
These fans have taken to Twitter over the last 48 hours to share their thoughts on it all…
As if the personnel mattered when SG and every other opposing manager knows exactly what predictable system they are up against.

Glad to see he’s “furious” about something as he looked like a man who didn’t have a care in the world yesterday.

That’s the least of his problems

Another reason they are not respecting the manager and if that’s the case you’ve got a problem. https://t.co/eGnERXEKvo

Our Neil likes a good deflection. The team gets leaked every week, and it doesn’t seem to bother him. https://t.co/mpxqdUVeDg

If he thinks thats the major issue after today it’s time he had a look at himself.

Focus on our team Neil, get the right team with the proper attitude on the field

Same as players don’t want to be here excuse after CL exit.

This ‘team leak’ that Lennon’s going on about sounds very much like a deflection tactic. So many different teams were going around, people mainly suggesting Welsh because Jullien wasn’t in training.
