Ferencvaros coach Leandro has given an insight into what Robbie Keane’s coaching style is like amid the ongoing links to Celtic.

Keane is one of the frontrunners for the Hoops job, partially due to his connections to Dermot Desmond, but also his record in management.

The Irishman hinted that he had ‘completed his job’ after their Europa League exit to Braga, but what can Celtic expect from his coaching style if he gets the gig?

Robbie Keane is a calming influence on matchdays, says Leandro

Celtic are under the same sort of pressure to deliver in Scotland as Ferencvaros are in Hungary, which means winning trophies every year.

Amongst the chaos, a calming presence is required and Leandro revealed what it is like to work with the 45-year-old.

He said: “He has a winning character, and this rubs off on the team.

“Everyone is aware of what kind of career he had as a footballer, and he can convey his experiences very well.

“Especially on match days, he feels very well when he needs to push the guys or when he needs to talk to them a little calmer.

“He manages the company very well, which is not easy because there are many of us. I think he is a complex coach, I hope he stays with us for a long time.”

Leandro is unlikely to follow Keane to Glasgow if he did join due to his 20-year association with Ferencvaros, but one man that could join him is Stephen Glass.

Glass joined Keane’s coaching staff after a spell at Aberdeen, where he also worked with Scott Brown and would provide some vital experience and know-how of the Scottish football scene.
