We may not be treated to a full-stadium tifo display for tomorrow’s Scottish Premiership opener between Celtic and Ross County at Paradise, but a vibrant spectacle is set to be created regardless.
Fan group Bhoys have confirmed they’ll have a tifo in the southwest corner of the stadium cheering on the champions, and at the opposite end, it is expected that the Green Brigade will also have a display of their own in the North Curve standing section.
Full-stadium tifos are expensive and special. Last season The Green Brigade raised over £20,000 from the wider Celtic support to fund a stunning display ahead of a 2-0 victory over Aberdeen on the opening day of the season.
That’s how much it costs to put together all the materials for something like that. It’s a big ask to continue to raise that kind of cash.
However, the group continues to put significant effort into planning smaller displays throughout the season and we’ll see the start of their 2023/24 visuals tomorrow.
A lot was made of their lack of presence in the standing section on Tuesday night for the match against Athletic Club but over the years the group have not turned out in an organised fashion together for testimonial and charity matches. It wasn’t a point made about any current situations at Celtic, despite online discussion.

Celtic Park will be unified tomorrow. Every fan will be cheering the team onto victory at the start of a new era that everyone hopes provides as much success as Brendan Rodgers’ first spell at the club. That support is not in doubt.
It’ll be noisy, rocking and full of colour for the lunchtime kick-off and hopefully that backing helps the team kick on towards their first three points of the season.
Ross County will look to frustrate, but the champions are more than capable of getting the job done and sending every person home with a smile on their face. Bring on the new season!
