Former Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou will be visiting Glasgow as a manager again, taking his Tottenham Hotspur side to face Rangers at Ibrox this season.
Spurs have sensationally been drawn away to Philippe Clement’s outfit in the UEFA Europa League after a draw on Friday, giving Ange a chance to show up Celtic’s rivals once more.
Ange Postecoglou won a double and treble of trophies during his time as Bhoys boss, dominating Rangers and Scottish football for two seasons.
The Ibrox side will also face Manchester United, Lyon, Olympiacos, Union SG, Malmo, Steaua Bucharest and Nice in what looks to be an incredibly tough draw for them considering it’s the secondary level of European competition.
Ange Postecoglou’s record vs Rangers
The Celtic icon faced Rangers as a manager on 11 occasions, winning six, drawing two and losing three others.
His most famous victory was a power-shifting 3-0 thrashing at Celtic Park in February 2022 that really set the tone for what Postecoglou was eventually able to achieve in Scotland.
Rangers have performed well in the Europa League in recent years so won’t back down from the challenge but you’d expect Spurs to be red-hot favourites in the fixture by the time it rolls around.
Celtic fans will look forward to seeing Ange back in Scotland
It’ll be great to hear what the Spurs boss has to say about the fixture with his reaction to the draw later.
Postecoglou never hides his admiration for Celtic despite leaving for the Premier League and will be incredibly motivated to pick up another big result in Glasgow.
We know he loves the spotlight too and this will be one of the biggest fixtures in the UK and Europe during the week it happens. Hopefully, it leaves a smile on all of our faces.
