When it comes to goal records throughout Britain this season, you’ll do well to beat Teemu Pukki.
The former Celtic flop has been making a real name for himself down at Norwich City this season. The Finn already has 27 goals operating in the Championship. With 38 appearances to his name too, it’s fair to say he’s making a name for himself.
When Pukki signed for the Hoops, he was frail and easily brushed off the ball. He at times made some good moves in the final third, and could feel hard done by with his lack of service.

He bagged just nine goals in 32 appearances for the Hoops after signing from Schalke. Pukki was one of Neil Lennon’s poorest signings, and nobody was sad to see him leave permanently in 2015.
But now he tops the goalscoring charts in England’s second division. He leads ahead of the likes of the highly-rated Tammy Abraham and Billy Sharp. His Norwich City side are top of the Championship, and look sure-fire favourites to be promoted.
These days, Pukki is looking a lot stronger and clinical in the final third. No longer appearing to be a shrinking violet on the pitch, there’s an arrogance to his game. You can see a compilation of his Norwich goals here.
It’s been a week of glory for former Celtic strikers
In the same week where Amido Balde slammed four goals in for his debut club (you can read our story on that here), Pukki sits as the top scorer in the Championship. You must wonder what is indeed going on in the world.

Pukki has to be one of the most forgetful signings Celtic ever made. He failed to ever stand out or make his impact known in the final third. A lack of confidence had him out of sorts in Glasgow, and his renaissance seems to have come out of nowhere.
At the time of writing, Pukki is also in sensational form. He’s smashed home goals in each of his last six matches, notching eight in that run.
He’s looking on course to be a hot property in the English Premiership. That’s something nobody could’ve predicted four short years ago.
So the big question is, would you take him back at Celtic? Funnily enough, he’s probably now way out of our price range.
