Former Celtic goalkeeper Artur Boruc has insisted that he isn’t surprised to see interest arrive from clubs across Europe in Josip Juranovic.
The 27-year-old arrived at Parkhead last summer as part of Ange Postecoglou’s attempt to rebuild his squad, which included a further 11 new additions.
Signing a long-term deal at Celtic Park, Juranovic joined from Legia Warsaw after spending just one year with the Polish side.

During his time in Warsaw, the Celtic full-back played alongside and developed a close friendship with a Hoops great in Artur Boruc.
Juranovic recently came up against his former side and teammate as part of the Bhoys’ pre-season preparations and in celebration of the legendary goalkeeper retiring at the age of 42.
During pre-season, Juranovic was subject to reported interest from Atletico Madrid and recently the likes of Chelsea and Manchester United.
Of course, having played alongside the Croatian internationalist as well as spending a five-year spell at Parkhead, Boruc is well-suited to discuss what may be going through his head with interest from Europe.
Speaking in an interview with Football Scotland, Boruc insisted he isn’t surprised to see these level of clubs linked with a move for the right-back.
However, the Polish internationalist also stated that he believes it would be best for Juranovic to remain at Celtic for at least another year.

He said [Football Scotland]: “I played with Juranovic, and I’m not surprised because he was a good player when he came to Legia Warsaw.
“He adjusted well to the team when he played here, and I knew he was a player.
“He’s a very ambitious guy as well, which is the main thing. That helps most players.
“I don’t want to say much, but the best thing for him would maybe be two good years at Celtic.
“Play a little bit more in Europe and then move on. I don’t know.”

The best choice for Juranovic this window is to stay put at Celtic.
Similarly to Boruc, Celtic supporters aren’t surprised to see interest in Juranovic growing with the quality he provides as a player.
And the Parkhead faithful are desperate to see the Croatian remain a Celtic player after just 12 months in the green and white.
In my opinion, Juranovic would be best staying put at Parkhead for at least the next six months, and I believe he will be thinking that too.
Interest from huge clubs like Atletico and Chelsea is, of course, tempting. However, with a World Cup taking place this year and no guarantees of starting if he was to join a new club this summer, regular game time will be crucial.
Juranovic also has the chance to impress at Champions League level, working under a brilliant manager this season. So, you would imagine he is still keen to stick around.
Come the January transfer window or next summer, that may be a different story. However, for now, I think Juranovic would be sensible to follow the advice of Artur Boruc.
In other news, Rangers have just shown a weakness that Celtic can exploit.
