Hart dipped his toe into the punditry business after hanging up his gloves at Euro 2024 and now, the former Celtic man is set to embark on another venture in his post-football career.

Hart said [Manchester Evening News print edition page 40], “I’m stepping back having made great friends and many great memories.

“This decision has been coming for a while, maybe my birthday earlier this year fast-tracked it a little, but ultimately it’s time to do a few more different things with my Saturdays.

“I’m getting older, I just want to make sure I use the time well and efficiently for myself and at the moment, Match of the Day is the one that if something had to go, it had to be that.”

Hart certainly impressed with his balanced view whenever he spoke about Scotland during the Euros and it’s fair to say he speaks just as passionately about the game as he played it.

Although Hart won’t be commentating specifically on Celtic, his balanced views and opinions will certainly be popular amongst the viewers of the Premier League highlights show.
