Celtic icon Tom Rogic will not be staying at West Bromwich Albion. The news was confirmed after the club announced their retained and released list this afternoon.

Rogic surprisingly signed for the Baggies back in September after a whole summer of speculation about what his next team after Celtic would be.

He made 23 appearances in total, scoring two goals and assisting three more. However, he only managed four league starts in the Championship and a determination has been made not to extend his one-year deal at the club.

Now 30, it’s unclear what his next career move will be. Every Celtic fan will be hoping he lands on his feet, having become such a fan favourite over many years of success in Glasgow.

The attacking midfielder made 273 appearances in total for the Bhoys, scoring 46 goals along the way, many of which were very memorable.

His biggest moment came in the 2016/17 Scottish Cup Final against Aberdeen when his late solo effort delivered the Invincible Treble.

Rogic was also a big part of the club’s resurgence under Ange Postecoglou last season, finding some of his best performances under his former national team boss and leaving Celtic on a massive high. He got an emotional reception at Celtic Park on trophy day last year.

He surely still has plenty of football left in him and hopefully he can find a club that best suits his ability and ambitions. West Brom never seemed like the best fit.
