One-time Celtic man Oli Burke has continued his remarkable renaissance in the Bundesliga by sinking Borussia Dortmund with his second injury-time goal in as many weeks.
The former Parkhead loanee whipped a 95th-minute finish inside Gregor Kobel’s near-post to complete Werder Bremen’s come-back at the Westfalenstadion, the visitors having been 2-0 down in the 88th minute.
The Bundesliga runners-up were leading 2-0 thanks to Julian Brandt and Raphael Guerrerio’s goals, but Werder were given hope in the 89th minute by Lee Buchanan before Niklas Schmidt and his fellow sub Burke secured all three points for the visitors in stoppage time.

The Kirkcaldy-born 25 year old already has a significant late Bremen goal to his name from this week alone, having scored Bremen’s last-gasp equaliser in a 2-2 draw against Stuttgart last weekend.
It’s a remarkable start in Bremen for the former Scotland star, who has accumulated doubters over his still-short career, having failed to justify hefty price tags across multiple significant moves.
Burke has had a nomadic career so far, making several moves for large fees but never truly finding a home since his initial move to the Bundesliga.
The winger signed for Leipzig after making the breakthrough at Notts Forest as a 17 year old in the Championship, but was back in England three years later with West Brom.
He ended up in Paradise on a six month loan deal completed in January 2019, and scored four goals in nineteen appearances as the Bhoys completed a historic treble treble – although three of those goals were in his first few appearances.
After his return to West Brom and subsequent loan to Alaves, Burke completed another big money move to Sheffield United, but failed to prevent the Yorkshire side being relegated from the Premier League, and had a loan spell at Millwall before his return to Germany in the summer.
Despite it never working out in Paradise for the former Scotland international, few would begrudge Burke finally finding a home in Bremen.
