Former Celtic duo Simon Ferry and Paul Slane have won a prestigious Football Blog award.
Along with former Rangers striker Kevin Kyle, their Open Goal podcast won the Judge’s Choice gong.
The former Hoops men went down to Manchester City’s Etihad Stadium to collect the prize.
In true Slaney fashion, he gave the hall a rendition of ‘Good Girls’ during his acceptance speech.

Paul Slane and Simon Ferry moving up
The Bhoys have been co-hosting the Scottish Football podcast together since the end of last year.
Joined with Kyle and other guests, the trio discuss the goings on in football in an off the cuff fashion.

There’s laughs to be had as all three have experienced the highs and lows of football.
Ferry and Slane couldn’t make it at Celtic despite being talented youth players while Kyle has played everywhere including a stint in the lower tier with Rangers.
At the end of the event Ferry said: “Thanks for all the messages team means a lot. Was on a train at five in the morning with young Paul still fulla beans. Shown him all the messages and he says yous are all pathetic.”

The usual from Slane who is now coining the ‘pathetic’ catchphrase as his own.

One of the running gags in the show is trying to get 27-year-old Slane a return to football.
The former Motherwell youngster hasn’t played since he left Clyde in 2017.
His career was plagued with injuries and personal troubles which caused him to leave Celtic in 2013, making one appearance.

Ferry has tried to get Slane to his own team, Peterhead, as they will play League One football next season.
It was revealed on the last show that Slane had bought a pair of football boots recently.
Perhaps, we will see the ex-starlet rise to the occasion with grown confidence from his podcast appearances.
