Ex-Celtic midfielder Landry Nguemo has said he would be honoured to come back to the club.

The Cameroon midfielder spent one season on loan at the club under Tony Mowbray.

After departing he went to play for Bordeaux and Saint-Etienne before becoming a journeyman.

Now aged 33, the Cameroon international wants one last shot at a massive club like the Hoops.

Landry Nguemo congratulates Celtic

The defensive midfielder kicked this all off by congratulating his former team for winning the league.

This prompted fans to speculate if the former Nancy man would come back to Celtic.

Nguemo currently plays in Norway with second flight club Kingsvinger, who he joined this year.

However, with captain Scott Brown the same age and coming to the end, Nguemo’s chances are slim.

This isn’t stopping Nguemo dreaming though as he issued a further tweet.

A move back to Celtic as 33-year-old journeyman wouldn’t look too bad on his CV.

The player could clearly do a job in the SPL but a permanent move couldn’t come to fruition in 2010.

He has a sort of close link to one of the current Hoops players already as Nguemo owns a white-tailed eagle named after Timothy Weah’s Dad, George.

Celtic best to keep old players in the past

It’s becoming a trend now for ex-Celts to come out and try and return to the club.

Former top scorer Gary Hooper also issued a come get me plea in a similar vein to Nguemo.

There are even reports linking the Englishman strongly to move back to Celtic.

Unfortunately for these lads, their careers are coming to an end and Celtic as a club look to progress.

We already have our own talent and at different ages on the scale.

Bringing back old heroes won’t help anyone and will hinder any promising youth talent.

Hopefully the next time we see these Bhoys on the field is for the Paradise Windfall or a charity game.
