Former Celtic striker Chris Sutton has been left annoyed by the protracted feud between rivals Rangers and the SPFL, speaking to broadcaster BT Sport in recent days.
With statements and counter-statements flying about for weeks, mysterious allegations bubbling under the surface and a club EGM on the horizon, the ongoing drama between the two parties shows little sign of slowing down.
For Sutton, it’s all a massive distraction, with the outspoken pundit feeling that the Ibrox club are simply trying to deflect people away from the reality they’ve had another massive failure of a season.
Speaking to BT Sport, he said: “I’m sick of the whole situation, I really am, it’s like Groundhog Day.
“I mean Rangers, massive deflection tactics, any old excuse to deflect from what’s happened on the pitch.
“I’m sick of the whole thing. If they have evidence, I think Roy MacGregor said last week, put up or shut up. If they have evidence, they may get clubs on their side.
“If they’re going to keep quiet, which they have done so far, then this isn’t going anywhere. That’s plain to see.”
Clearly Sutton is losing patience with this ongoing situation, as are most of us.
As the SPFL and Scottish FA prepare to meet government representatives on Tuesday to discuss a phased return to action, it’s become clear over the last few weeks there are far more important issues to contend with in Scottish football.

Unbelievably Rangers have still not produced their evidence, though BBC Scotland report that this is due to be presented to clubs over the coming week.
Regardless, the Ibrox side’s handling of all this has been frustrating for the rest of us and hopefully after another weekend of strong SPFL responses to criticism, we’re nearing the end of the saga.
