Moussa Dembele was a derby hero once again as his goal sealed the win for Lyon against Saint Etienne.

The former Celtic striker popped up into five minutes of added time to head the winner.

Like he did so many times in Scotland against Rangers, Dembele rose to the big occasion.

This also prompted nostalgic Hoops fans to reminisce on Twitter.

Dembele goal shows manager what he’s worth

The striker has been in and out the team because of this but now manager Bruno Génésio must see Dembele’s qualities.

Lyon were able to leapfrog their rivals with thanks to the 95th minute winner.

His looping header from just inside the box was too much for Stéphane Ruffier.

Celtic fans react on Twitter to Moussa’s derby winner

The big game player’s goal prompted a massive reaction on Twitter by some Celtic fans.

Derby goal stops potential return to Celtic

With the French under-21 international scoring important goals now for Lyon, a potential loan move to Celtic is less likely to happen.

Due to his relationship with Génésio and record at Lyon, some fans could have been clutching at that.

However, this goal has shown what all Celtic fans know and that is how important Dembele is when it comes to the derbies.

Lyon are now third in Ligue 1 after climbing above St Etienne in the table, while Dembele may have just prolonged his Lyon career a little longer.
