We’ve all heard about the friendship between Patrick Roberts and Kieran Tierney but what about the Englishman’s relationship with Liam Henderson?
Well, it appears that the pair got on quite well in their time at Celtic. In fact, they got on so well that they decided to meet up for a get together in the exotic location of Dubai.
Roberts posted an image of Henderson on his Instagram alongside a love heart emoji.
Adventurous careers
The two players are similar in the fact they’ve both enjoyed interesting careers to date. Roberts is only 22-year-old but has already moved to one of the biggest clubs in England for a reported £12million, become a back-to-back treble winner with Celtic and played in Spain.
Henderson can even beat that. He’s a year older than the Englishman but has sampled football in Norway and Italy, won a dramatic Scottish Cup with Hibernian and lifted two honours with Celtic too.
The pair are clearly driven young individuals who are prepared to take a risk. That’s refreshing to see.
Will they ever come back to Celtic?
Who knows. Both Henderson and Roberts seem to be on a good path at present. The Scotsman has just been promoted to Serie A with Hellas Verona after a dramatic play-off victory. He’s seen as a big part of their team and will get real game time in one of Europe’s top league next season.
Roberts, too, can look forward to having a chance to shine in a top league. He recently signed for Norwich City and will be hoping to finally make a mark on the league that means most to him.
For now, Celtic fans will have to take a passing interest in both player’s careers. Who knows about the future.
