As the international break, thankfully, enters its halfway point, we have less than a week to go until we see Ange Postecoglou’s side back in action.
Ross County beckons on the 2nd of April and whilst a trip to Dingwall may well not be the ideal fixture to return to, many of us will just be relieved that the domestic game is back and we can watch Ange Postecoglou negotiate a difficult April in a bid to secure his second league title.
Holding a nine-point advantage and a superior goal difference, it would take a monumental collapse by Celtic to concede the league and, to be honest, I just cannot see that happening.

The mentality that Ange has built within this squad is such that they take nothing for granted. The team focus on what is ahead of them and refuses to be distracted by any outside noise. Which makes it look virtually impossible for the Ibrox side to catch us up. And that is something that former Rangers manager, Alex McLeish seems to have reluctantly admitted.
Speaking in the Daily Record, McLeish said, “Celtic have a physical, athletic side and that’s brought them some domination in the last few years. Maybe we need to look and see about bringing that kind of formula into our club. Sometimes with players it’s confidence and I think Michael is working really hard on that.
“The league is going to be very difficult at this stage of the season, given the points deficit. It kind of reminded me of my own time at the club. When I first took over the league was pretty much gone. We had a couple of cups to win and we managed to do that.
“For this group of players there is a huge game ahead in the Scottish Cup. The team would need to claw back the deficit in the league and that means Celtic dropping a helluva lot of points. At this moment, they don’t look like doing that. Their consistency has been phenomenal. You can’t help that, you just need to keep winning. Rangers are probably one of a dozen clubs in the world who have to win every week.”
The former Rangers man is bang on the money. One defeat in almost a calendar year and five points dropped all season means that Ange and his side could be on for record-breaking points and goal-scoring tally.
If Celtic win the remainder of their fixtures, we could finish the season on 109 points which would be three more than the record set in the 2016/17 Invincibles season under Brendan Rodgers.
We could also be on course to beat our record league goals scored in a season. In the 1915/16 season we scored 116 goals.
Ange’s team average over three goals per game. If we keep scoring at that rate, we would be on course to hit 120 goals by the end of the season. This team is certainly phenomenal.
