It is fair to say that Greg Taylor has had a slow start to his Celtic career. He has yet to play a single minute of football for the Hoops since joining the club from Kilmarnock on transfer deadline day.
However, Taylor’s lack of playing time does not worry his former Kilmarnock team-mate Gordon Greer. Greer is confident that the left-back will go on to have a successful career with the Hoops.
“I’ve got no doubt he’s got the personality to handle it, and he’ll do well at Celtic” he said, as reported by the Daily Record.
“His opportunity will come”
“He’s had a bit of time to settle and I’m sure it won’t be long before he’s in the side. His opportunity will come and I’m sure he’ll grab it with both hands” he concluded.
Taylor has perhaps been unfortunate that he has come up against a player in Boli Bolingoli who has been excellent for the Hoops at left-back in recent matches.
Good form of player has kept him out of side
He has arguably been one of Celtic’s best players. That has meant that so far, Taylor has yet to make the breakthrough into the first-team.
However, there will be a time this season when the player does get a chance for the Hoops. Bolingoli won’t play every game for the Hoops, and there may be a time when he is injured or out of form.
When that happens, Taylor must take that opportunity. There is still plenty of time for the player to have a long and successful career with Celtic.
