Celtic will be featured extensively on Sky Sports in the opening weeks of the 2020/21 Scottish Premiership season, with the broadcaster showing four of our first five league fixtures, it was announced today.

Sky have become exclusive rights holders of the league and today helped launch our full fixture schedule at 9am.

Celtic will host Hamilton on the opening weekend of the season before hitting the road to face Kilmarnock and St Mirren away from home.

A tricky home encounter against Aberdeen will follow before another away match at Tannadice against Premiership new boys Dundee United.

The Hamilton, Killie, St Mirren and United matches will all be shown live on Sky Sports throughout August.

Elsewhere, the first derby of the season against Rangers has been scheduled for October 17th at Celtic Park.

That’s in week 11 of the season, the latest the SPFL could possibly schedule it.

It gives the club as much time as possible to get fans through the door safely and in conjunction with government guidelines.

Further derbies will take place on January 2nd (Ibrox) and March 20th (Celtic Park) before the top six split.

Today’s announcement is an exciting one and will ramp up anticipation of the new season kicking off in just a few weeks time.

Before that, Celtic are expected to take part in a number of friendly matches so it won’t be too long at all until we see Neil Lennon’s Bhoys back on the pitch.
