Celtic veteran Fraser Forster won a host of trophies for Celtic in his first spell with the club. He won three Premiership titles and two Scottish Cups, before leaving the club to join Southampton.
Now that he is back at the Hoops on-loan, Forster will be hoping to add to his collection of winner’s medals.
However, looking back at what he won at the club in his first spell, the Hoops goalkeeper has indicated that the Scottish Cup Final winner’s medal he received in 2011 is the most important to the player.
“It was the first one”
“The first Scottish Cup is probably the one I cherish most just because it was the first one” Forster said, as reported by the Celtic View (Volume 55, Issue 15, Page. 11).
“Maybe at the time I didn’t stop to fully savour the moment of the achievement. It’s not often as a player you really look back on things that have happened in your career. Maybe when you’re older you might find yourself taking out your medals and look at them and trying to take in what you’ve achieved.”
Should be proud of his achievements
As Forster says, he isn’t one to look back on past achievements. However, he can be very proud of what he achieved in his first spell at Celtic.
The trophies won, the record-breaking minutes set without conceding a goal, the great results in Europe, Forster can be very pleased with all that.
It all started for the player with that 3-0 win over Motherwell in 2011. Hopefully before he departs Celtic for a second time, there are more happy memories to be made and trophies to be won.
