Celtic welcome Dundee to Parkhead knowing how big an evening it could turn out to be in the Scottish Premiership.
Manager Brendan Rodgers made it clear he would be fully focused on the visit of the Dees and not on the other massive fixture playing itself out across the country as Aberdeen face Rangers.
The boss made a few changes to his selection last weekend when Celts travelled to Fir Park to beat Motherwell 3-0.
And now he has revamped his lineup again for the visit of Tony Docherty’s troops.
- Starting XI: SCHMEICHEL, RALSTON, CCV (c), TRUSTY, TAYLOR, MCCOWAN, ENGELS, BERNARDO, YANG, PALMA, KYOGO.
- On the bench: SINISALO, JOHNSTON, SCALES, VALLE, MAEDA, HATATE, FORREST, WELSH, TURLEY.
The defence has had an issue or two in recent weeks with Cameron Carter-Vickers being missing through injury.
That has, however, allowed both Auston Trusty and Liam Scales to come in and form a strong partnership of their own at the back in the American’s absence. But CCV is back in action from the start.
The midfield was without Callum McGregor at Fir Park while Luke McCowan was preferred and given a run out over Arne Engels who was rested.
Luke McCowan keeps his spot in Celtic’s XI while Cameron Carter-Vickers starts
Greenock-born McCowan did well in the victory and managed to nab a goal for his troubles and he keeps his spot.
Reacting to the team news announcement as confirmed via the club’s social media channels this evening, fans had their say on Rodgers‘ picks with Nic Kuhn and Callum McGregor the big two missing out.
Callum McGregor and Nicolas Kuhn are out of Celtic’s starting squad
One Celtic fan commented: “Calmac still no back,” while another questioned: “I might be being thick but where’s Kuhn?”
One wrote: “Today’s not April Fools’ day Celtic,” as a fourth added: “Yang? Going back home.”
“Release the real starting lineup,” another wrote as one said: “Love a wee squad rotation.”
