Celtic striker Giorgos Giakoumakis has returned to training at Lennoxtown today after missing out on Wednesday night’s match at home to St Mirren.
Eyebrows were raised when the Greek forward was not named in Ange Postecoglou’s match squad mid-week amidst all the transfer rumours surrounding him.
However, Postecoglou was adamant he had simply missed out after picking up a knock in the wake of last weekend’s win over Kilmarnock at Hampden.

Having missed training in the early part of the week, Giakoumakis was pictured being put through his paces with the group today, signalling he is ready to feature tomorrow.
If nothing changes on the transfer front over the next 24 hours, the smart money is on him actually starting the Scottish Cup match against Greenock Morton.
Kyogo Furuhashi has played lots of football recently and resting him up for more tests to come would be the expected move from the Celtic boss.
Giakoumakis’ starting opportunities have been limited given the form of the Japanese striker, who has now netted 18 goals in all competitions for the Bhoys this term.
He’d undoubtedly relish the opportunity to play in front of the Celtic support as the Bhoys enter a Scottish Cup tournament everyone wants to win.
All eyes are on the manager’s teamsheet tomorrow.
In other news, Celtic Park set for biggest away support since 2019.
