Celtic have today released a video and an article outlining what they are calling “new measures” in and around the stadium this weekend.

On Saturday, the Hoops take on Rangers in the Premiership at a sold-out Celtic Park.

The video posted by the club on Wednesday afternoon shows club media figure Gerry McCulloch walking around the stadium and explaining various procedures that will be in place for Saturday.

An accompanying written piece details the same information for supporters, with good and bad news.

The positive is that, with no away fans in attendance, there will be no need for segregation inside or outside the ground, including on surroundings roads.

This means that supporters will be able to walk around the entirety of the stadium before the game, with no parts closed off at any stage of the morning.

The Sports Bar at Celtic Park is also open prior to the game, from 10:40am onwards.

However, other parts of the pre-match experience may be more of a pain for fans, with stringent checks in place.

Celtic say that there may be “an airport style queuing system and ticket checks” at turnstiles.

The club also say that tickets may be checked again by stewards once fans are through the turnstiles.

The club have warned fans against moving to “other parts of the stadium” due to a fear of overcrowding.

These videos in the lead-up to big matches are nothing new. The club are probably encouraged by security services to put them out, but it’s important they always take the right tone.

In a nutshell, the good news for Saturday is that the entirety of the stadium will be open to Celtic fans, with no segregation in place.

But expect queues to get in to the ground, and don’t throw away your ticket once you’re through the turnstile.

In other news, Celtic can take a big step towards a perfect home season this weekend
