Celtic have potentially received some promising injury news ahead of Thursday’s Europa League clash against Lazio.
The Daily Record has revealed that Leigh Griffiths trained at Celtic Park with the first-team squad before they left for Rome.
The return of the Celtic striker at any time would be a bonus. However, with Celtic having only one fit striker, then having Griffiths back and available now would be a real boost for the Hoops.
Real problem if star striker got injured

Thankfully Odsonne Edouard is still fit, and he will lead the line for the Hoops in Rome. However, it would be a real problem for the Hoops should be pick up an injury.
That is why Griffiths’ return to training and fitness has come at such a good time for the Hoops. With Vakoun Issouf Bayo out of action, it is vital that Celtic have at least two strikers available for selection.
It will be intriguing to see if Griffiths makes the Celtic bench for the game against Lazio. That might be too much of a risk to take. After all, Griffiths has not played for Celtic since the Hoops defeated Hearts 3-1 in August.
Next league game could be made for striker’s return

That is more than two months out of action. But the upcoming league game against Motherwell could be the match where Griffiths makes his return. Even an appearance off the bench would be a good sign.
No doubt Neil Lennon shortly will provide a fitness update on the player, but the signs are good that Griffiths will be back in a Celtic shirt soon.
