The great thing about being a Celtic supporter is that the fans have had the opportunity to watch some of the best players in the world don the green and white Hoops.
From the Lisbon Lions to the modern-day era of Henrik Larsson and Lubo Moravcik, the Hoops’ support has been spoiled with the array of talent they have had the privilege of watching showcase their skills in Paradise.
But there was a player who graced the jersey and turned into a bit of a cult hero amongst the fans but he is one that gave Gordon Strachan headaches whenever he walked onto the pitch.
How Thomas Gravesen was ‘uncoachable’ at Celtic
The former Celtic manager created transfer history when he bought Gravesen for £2m from Real Madrid. The Denmark legend was the first-ever transfer purchase from the La Liga club and it seems that Strachan got more than he bargained for.
Strachan said [No Tippy Tappy Football], “Thomas is the nicest man, great technique, fit, but uncoachable.
“He was uncoachable. That was a problem for the team because it would break down because Thomas would go and do his own thing.
“His concentration level was zilch and even during games he’d be doing thingsand you would be just like, ‘What is he doing?’.
“So he was uncoachable but you could not dislike him. And Thomas no matter what, even if I left him out of the team or anything, he would come over and say, ‘Good morning Gordon’ and then walk on again.
“He wasn’t bothered. That’s Thomas but he was a brilliant lad, honestly.”

Whenever he was in the mood, Gravesen was a great player for Celtic on his day. His first-ever goal for Celtic was against Rangers in the 2-0 Glasgow Derby win in 2006 as he helped Celtic win the league and Scottish double that season.
Remarkably, despite playing for Real Madrid, the honours Gravesen won at Celtic were the only ones in his career.
Now living in Las Vegas, the former Celtic midfielder is a professional gamer as he carries on his life after football.
