Champions League nights at Celtic Park are well-known as some of the best you can experience in football.

We have seen some incredible games in the world’s biggest club competition over the years, against teams such as Barcelona, AC Milan and Juventus, to name a few.

It has been a few years since we have been able to experience those special nights. But, the 2022/23 campaign will mark the Hoops return to the Champions League.

Anticipation has begun to ramp up for this year’s tournament, with the group stage draw set to take place tomorrow evening.

Supporters will have already been plotting out some of their dream and nightmare ties, with Ange Postecoglou’s side coming up against some of the best football sides from across Europe.

It hasn’t just been supporters naming their dream group stage match-ups, though. Players from one of Celtic’s potential opponents, Red Bull Salzburg, have also been naming who they would like to face in this season’s competition.

Ahead of tomorrow’s draw, the Austrian side released a Tiktok of members of their squad stating who they would like to take on from each pot.

Two Salzburg stars in particular – goalkeeper Philipp Kohn and defender Maximilian Wober – stated their hopes to be drawn against the Bhoys.

Wober expanded on the reasoning stating that the atmosphere created on a European night at Celtic Park is why he wants to come up against the Hoops in the Champions League.

He said [Ligaportal]: “Celtic’s stadium has a great atmosphere, and it would definitely be a lot of fun to play there.

“In fact, I would love to be drawn against Celtic and Spurs because I would like to play at Tottenham’s new stadium too.

“We want to show again what Red Bull Salzburg stands for, and we want to do it at the very top level of club football internationally.

“Of course, we just have to take what comes, but for me, it would be nice to play against new teams.”
