The Green Brigade have issued an update on their ban from Celtic fixtures.

Since November, hundreds of fans affiliated with the group have been banned from home and away matches, with part of the Safe Standing section at Celtic Park being closed.

In the months since the ban, the two parties have been unable to reach a resolution, leaving a hole in the matchday atmospheres as the team contest a title race.

Three weeks on from their last meeting with the club, the Green Brigade have issued an update.

In their statement on the North Curve Celtic X account, the group said: “The Celtic v Motherwell fixture on 14th March is set to be the 30th match over an 18 week suspension of 250 Celtic fans.

“Fans were refused participation in the investigation; they were given no right of reply; they had no means to appeal decisions; there has been limited communication with them throughout; and the rationale of the suspension has regularly shifted.

“Three weeks ago (12/02/2026), the Green Brigade met with Celtic to try to find a resolution.

“The only update since then is that there is another meeting scheduled for Mon 9th March, which follows three emails from the Green Brigade seeking clarity.

“While we are hopeful that progress has been made we remain sceptical, especially as the Club are unwilling to share detail of outstanding concerns in advance of the meeting.”

The statement goes on to give a timeline of recent events, with the GB crucially saying they immediately raised concerns with the club’s Supporter Liaison Officer after the incident which led to their ban.

Many in the media have called for their return as Celtic close in on a crucial run-in for the title.

Celtic Fans Collective’s push for Green Brigade return

In their released minutes from their latest meeting with the club, the Celtic Fans Collective addressed the GB, citing their importance on matchday atmospheres.

They told Brian Wilson that their absence was having a direct negative impact on the team’s performance.

Wilson said that “dialogue is ongoing” with the group, adding that “progress had been made on one strand, with another strand more complex”.

He conceded that the group’s presence would have a positive effect on the team, also stating that Head of Security Mark Hargreaves does not hold a veto on the decision.
