Celtic defender Greg Taylor has been tipped by a former teammate to adequately replace the presence of Kieran Tierney at the Hoops, The Scottish Sun report.
Tierney left Celtic Park in August for a reported fee of £25m (BBC), leaving the left-back slot open for competition between two new Neil Lennon signings.
Boli Bolingoli has played for the majority of the season in the position, but after picking up an injury away to Rennes on Thursday, Taylor is in line to make his debut for Celtic later today.
One of his former Killie teammates, Dom Thomas, feels he has the ability to fill in for Tierney ‘no bother’.
As quoted by The Scottish Sun, he said: “Technically, Greg is very good on the ball and confident. He’s not the tallest but he will give you 100 per cent at all times. A lot of teams tried to go aerial against him but he always dealt with that.
“Kieran was a big fans’ favourite at Celtic and Greg is a bit quieter. But he does his talking on the pitch. Obviously Kieran went for a lot more money but Greg can fill that left-back place no bother. I am sure he can achieve whatever he wants.”

A long way to go for Taylor
Taylor is going to find it almost impossible not to be compared to both Tierney and Scotland’s other elite left-back Andy Robertson during his initial stages at Celtic.
Both are high profile defenders with a Celtic connection who have shone for club and country, with Taylor playing back-up for the Scotland national team.
Right now it’s a bit early to be making predictions about his Hoops career. He’s not even made his debut yet and there’s a long way to go.
The position at Celtic is Bolingoli’s to lose right now when everyone is fit.
The former Kilmarnock man is an undoubtedly committed performer, so hopefully he can take his big chance when it comes, whether that’s today or later in the season.
