PAOK star Magomed Ozdoev has a hilarious reason for why Greg Taylor has adapted well to life in Greece since signing from Celtic.
Taylor got his first assist in a PAOK shirt as the Greek giants beat Volos in what was the full-back’s first start for a month.
Former Celtic striker Giorgos Giakoumakis also scored as PAOK moved to the top of the Greek Super League.
It has taken time for Taylor to adjust to joining POAK, but he is finally showing what he is made of.
Weather playing a part in Greg Taylor’s success
According to Ozdoev, the secret behind the 27-year-old’s strong start is because of the weather.
In his post-match interview, the midfielder said: “This is the first time Greg has even seen sunlight…they don’t have sun in Scotland, I think!
“We are all delighted to have Greg in the side and he’s starting to show what he can do. He made a brilliant decision to sign for PAOK.”
As for Taylor, he only has one complaint, saying: “My only complaint is that there are not enough golf courses in Thessaloniki!”
Greg Taylor eyeing fifth consecutive league title
While Brendan Rodgers’ side look in real danger of missing out on the Scottish Premiership title, things are going the right way for Taylor.
There is still a long way to go, and as somebody who has been in many title races, the full-back will be wary of counting his chickens too soon. However, the defender has admitted that a fifth straight title is his goal.
He said: “The aim is to win the title this season. We are working hard for this and we have to continue winning games.
“I am very happy at PAOK. It is the first time I have left my homeland. I was impressed from day one because they showed how much they wanted me here.”
