Celtic are showing off the new addition to Ange Postecoglou’s backroom staff today with Harry Kewell facing media and photographers at the club’s training centre at Lennoxtown.
Kewell’s addition to the Bhoys staff was announced last week, with Postecoglou looking for an additional edge in that department heading into the new season.
There’s no doubt the Australian is a big name having featured for Liverpool and Leeds United in the past, winning big trophies as a player including the UEFA Champions League.
Today, Celtic have posted a short video from Lennoxtown on TikTok showing the coach posing with the Celtic kit at his official unveiling.
The club have also promised an exclusive interview with Celtic TV is on the way so that’s one to look out for later this afternoon.
Kewell’s move to the Bhoys has prompted a bit of a backroom shake-up with Stephen McManus making a switch from the first team to the B team.
It’s since been reported that the B team will now train at Lennoxtown all the time, mirroring the methods and standards that Postecoglou insists of the senior side.
McManus is well placed to make that happen having been a key part of last season’s league and cup double.
It’s unclear at this stage what it will mean for Tommy McIntyre, who had been leading the B team on their Lowland League adventure last term.
Kewell and the rest of the coaching staff will now be busy preparing for the return of Celtic players to the training centre next week, with a training camp in Austria also on the schedule.
In other news, Ben Siegrist dismisses the biggest concern many will have about his Celtic switch.
