Celtic right-back Hatem Abd Elhamed has high expectations for the Hoops this season. He wants to see the club ‘win everything’ in his first season at Celtic Park.
The £1.6 million signing from Hapoel Be’er Sheva has the chance to play in four tournaments for the Hoops this season.
He wants to see Celtic triumph in all of them.
“There are big goals”
“This is life at a big club. Every game is important and there are big goals. We want to win everything so when one game is finished you must focus on the next” he said, as reported by the Daily Record.
When it comes to domestic football at least, Celtic do have the know how to win every trophy available. The Hoops have won the last nine domestic trophies in a row.
Europa League may be a bridge too far
However, when it comes to the Europa League, the Hoops might find that a bridge too far. Celtic have struggled to get past the last 32 of that particular competition in the last few seasons. Just getting past that round this season would have to be considered an achievement.
It is laudable that Elhamed has set such high standards in what has been a good start to his Celtic career. He must feel that the club is capable of winning plenty of trophies this season.
That remains to be seen, but the Hoops are in the semi-finals of the Betfred Cup, and could win that trophy in December. That would be a good start to what Elhamed hopes to see the Hoops achieve.
