Nobody doubts that Henrik Larsson is Celtic’s greatest ever striker.
Not only that, but Larsson is the best SPFL striker of all time, and he is the benchmark for any goalscorer that steps foot into Scottish football.
Celtic have been blessed to have some serious goal scorers wear their famous green and white colours, including Odsonne Edouard and Kyogo Furuhashi during the past decade.
The duo left an indelible imprint in Glasgow, establishing themselves as legendary figures and key players during a dominant period for Scotland’s most successful club.
But who was the better player?

Chris Sutton picks between Celtic icons Kyogo Furuhashi and Odsonne Edouard
Kyogo recently left Celtic, whilst Edouard joined Crystal Palace in 2021, and he is still on the books of the London club.
When discussing who the top SPFL strikers of all time are, aside from Larsson, the names of Kyogo and Edouard were mentioned.
Chris Sutton explained why he feels the man from Japan was the better player, as he named Kyogo in his top five list, as he told The Warm-Up.
“I would have Kyogo over Edouard,” said Sutton. “Kyogo decided the big games. You think about the Rangers games. How many times? I mean, he would break your (Boyd) heart.”
Charlie Adam added: “Big players in big moments, and he was one of them. Scoring goals in big games for Celtic.”

Amid the current negative noise around the 2025 summer transfer window, someone like Kyogo is a prime example of an unknown player going on to become a hero.
