"He delivered" - SPFL boss praises Postecoglou for his impact on Celtic and Scottish Football
Dundee United boss Jack Ross has praised Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou for how he has conducted himself in the role at Parkhead and the impact he has had at the Hoops.
The Hoops are preparing to travel to Tannadice for the first time since they clinched the Scottish Premiership title in May.
However, lots has changed at United in just a few months, with former Hibernian boss Jack Ross taking over from Tam Courts, who led his side to a fourth-placed finish in 2021/22.
Despite picking up a positive result in his first European outing against AZ Alkmaar, it hasn’t been the ideal start to the season for Ross, with his side suffering a run of poor results since then.
United still await their first three points of the season, but they face a tough test this weekend, with the champions set to travel to town on Sunday.
Speaking ahead of this weekend’s game, Ross has been full of praise for Ange Postecoglou, stating his admiration for how the 56-year-old has conducted himself in the hot seat at Celtic and the impact he has had at the club.
He said [Dundee Courier]: “When you are managing a club of that stature, you are judged on winning the title. He delivered that and has played in a way that has been new to Scottish football.
“He has done it in a style that has been bold and attractive. People are enjoying watching his teams. I’ve enjoyed my conversations with Ange; I enjoy the way he views the game and even how he sees life.
“I have always taken note of what top managers do in this country and in other countries — how they coach and prepare teams.
“We all have thoughts on how the game should be played, and I have enjoyed watching his teams. I have also enjoyed the challenge of trying to cause his teams problems.”
Scottish Premiership managers are full of admiration for Ange Postecoglou.
During his first 12 months in the Parkhead dugout, Ange Postecoglou has had a brilliant impact on not only Celtic but Scottish Football.
If you were to speak to each individual Premiership manager, I think it would be fair to say not one of them would have a bad word to say about Ange.
Not only has Ange been praised for how he carries himself off the pitch but also for how he has his team performing on it, with several managers applauding how well Postecoglou has got his side playing.
It could prove to be another difficult test at Tannadice this weekend against a Dundee United side who have shown they can take points off Celtic in the league last season.
I am sure despite his admiration, Jack Ross will be desperate to get off the mark with a victory over Ange Postecoglou’s Celtic side this weekend.
However, as always, Postecoglou will have his side ready for the task ahead.
