Chris Sutton has hailed Kyogo Furuhashi for his ‘brilliant’ goal as Celtic beat Rangers 1-0 at Ibrox on Sunday.

What a way to answer the critics and respond to recent disappointing results and performances. This was a deserved win for Celtic and Brendan Rodgers’ side.

But who else than Kyogo stepping up and, as Sutton pointed out, scoring a ‘brilliant’ goal, with the ex-striker mentioning that he ‘enjoys playing against Rangers’, as he told Sky Sports Football during his commentary stint.

In truth, whilst Kyogo only scored one goal, and it was seriously well-taken, he could have easily scored more.

Celtic’s main man, once again, stepping up when it matters most and scoring against Rangers.

Nonetheless, this was Sutton’s brief comments about Kyogo today.

Massive win for Rodgers

There’s always massive pressure going into these games, but there was extra going into this one because of recent results and performances.

Rodgers knows this fixture very, very well, but he needed that positive result just to wipe away some dark clouds.

And now, heading into the international break, the Bhoys sit top of the pile, as Rodgers picks up from where he left off.
